HEART ON A FAIRY SILK RIBBON: This is a large heart! It is about 50 mm from the tip to the top and about 40 mm wide. There is lots of Murano glass in this baby! It is made "off mandrel" and then a hole poked in it to string something through. They each come out differently. It is full of spirals and different colors in pinks/rose/greens and hangs from a deep maroon color silk ribbon. You can string it onto something else if you wish. I have wired it with sterling silver hand pounded wire, oxidized. HEART ON RIBBON: $45
LABYRINTH STONE ON LEATHER CORD: One of my favorite things is labyrinths and the meaning of labyrinths. This is a Lake Michigan stone completed by a fellow artisan with one of my lampwork beads in golds. They are tied onto an adjustable leather cord that can go out to about 32 inches. This stone even feels good - smooth and soothing. LABYRINTH STONE CORD: $48 Prehistoric labyrinths are believed to have served as traps for malevolent spirits or as defined paths for ritual dances. In medieval times, the labyrinth symbolized a hard path to God with a clearly defined center (God) and one entrance (birth). Labyrinths can be thought of as symbolic forms of pilgrimage; people can walk the path, ascending toward salvation or enlightenment. Many people could not afford to travel to holy sites and lands, so labyrinths and prayer substituted for such travel. Later the religious significance of labyrinths faded, and they served primarily for entertainment, though recently their spiritual aspect has seen a resurgence. Many newly-made labyrinths exist today, in churches and parks. Labyrinths are used by modern mystics to help achieve a contemplative state. Walking among the turnings, one loses track of direction and of the outside world, and thus quiets his mind. The result is a relaxed mental attitude, free of internal dialog. This is a form of meditation. Many people believe that meditation has health benefits as well as spiritual benefits.
SHIFT KEY NECKLACE: Yes, this is an old typewriter shift key! How quaint you say? Or what is a typewriter? Typewriters were our old word processors so to speak! The lampwork bead is in various colors of blues, ambers, golds with a Swarovski cyrstal topping it off. They hang from an approximate 28 inch sterling silver bead chain with clasp. Conversation piece to wear! SHIFT KEY NECKLACE: $28
Water: The lampwork glass beads in this necklace remind me of the water. Sometimes Lake Michigan has this color in it or you see it in the tropics. The front part of the necklace has hollow glass beads with a touch of gold foil. Hollow glass beads are larger but light. The remaining glass beads are regular beads with the last portion of the strand in 14 kt gold beads and a 14 kt toggle clasp. Very elegant necklace. Earrings are available. With the price of gold right now; this is a bargain! Water Necklace: $450
Be Strong, Speak True, Spread the Peace necklace. I love this necklace! The sterling silver message charm by Paula Best is great and the variation of handmade glass beads are very nice. The lampwork beads and message charm are mixed with the wood-like beads to make a very intriguing way to wear your feelings. Necklace is 16 1/2 inches long with a sterling silver 2 1/2 inch extender chain and a sterling silver lobster clasp. Be Strong Necklace: $150
Blue Dangle Necklace. Love the dangling glass beads which do make a nice tinkly sound. Translucent blue handmade lampwork glass beads, along with Swarovski cyrstals, hang from a sterling silver chain, catching the light as you move about. Two of the Swarovski cyrstals are a lavender blue to add a little interest! Lobster clasp can close it around your neck anywhere along the 26 inch sterling chain. The chain is oxidized to provide a different look. Blue Dangle Necklace $185
Froggy Necklace: This frog sits on a turquoise blue lily pad with the necklace consisting of faceted cat eye beads in blue. These beads catch the light with their facets - I love them! It is 18 inches long with a 2 inch sterling silver extender chain. It closes with a sterling lobster clasp. Froggy Necklace: $45
Colorful Tree Frog on blue rubber cord: Cord is 16 inches long. Tree frog is ready to go along for a ride, holding on with his colorful legs and toes! Tree Frog Necklace: $25
Frog on Lily Pad II: This frog is similar to the one above. She sits waiting for lunch on her turquoise lily pad but she is dangling from an 18 inch nylon cord with a small clasp. Frog on Lily with black Cord: $25
Ducky on Sterling Chain: This little ducky is just like the ones that float in your tub! She hangs from a sterling chain (about 18") with a spiral loop at the bottom. Ducky Necklace: $28
PETROGLYPH NECKLACE: After I went to Arizona on a buying trip to Tucscon I got interested in petroglyphs. So these lampwork beads that I made are my interpretation of some petroglyphs that you might see in the west. The earrings match. All the lampwork petroglyph beads have spirals on the other side in case they flip over. The lampwork beads are beige with some blue enamel which matches the faceted blue quartz beads. There are six (6) round lampwork beads and five (5) square lampwork beads on this necklace. A sterling silver lobster clasp attaches to an approximately 2 1/2 inch sterling extender chain. The necklace itself is about 18 inches long. PETROGLYPH NECKLACE: $130 PETROGLYPH EARRINGS $35
PEAPOD STERLING NECKLACE: Don't my lampwork beads sort of look like peas in a pod? This is all sterling silver wirework in the shape of a peapod and a leaf, hanging from a sterling silver chain that is about 22 inches long. The peapod hangs about 3 inches and has five lampwork beads and green Swarovski crystals. Very different! PEAPOD NECKLACE: $85
